The town may have enjoyed in full measure the blessings and advantages as one of educational centers in this part of the province of Negros Oriental. Why? Because these nearby towns of Manjuyod, now Bais City and the town of Bindoy were once a part of the town of Manjuyod. Thus, the first Elementary school was put up in the heart of the town of Manjuyod. It is indeed a fact that many of the school children in the aforesaid towns nearby studied here in Manjuyod.
Before the Second World War, there was Grade VII in the school curriculum of the intermediate Grades but after the war, it was shortened to Grade VI. The main building of Manjuyod Elementary School was totally destroyed by fire during the hectic years of the Second World War. However, after a few years, the government was able to recover from the ruins of war that standard classrooms were being built as it stands today. But then, the main building was transferred to the eastern side across the Zulueta Street, where now stands the Gabaldon building.
Elementary School of Manjuyod was known for academic excellence and one of the cleanest Elementary School in the Province of Negros Oriental and was always awarded for such records of quality education. Today there are so many Elementary Schools in the Municipality of Manjuyod and because of the many elementary schools nearby, the said Manjuyod Elementary School was changed to Manjuyod Central School, occupying a 3.2 hectare lot.
It is therefore the duty of all Manjuyodnons, especially the teaching force of Manjuyod Central School to emulate the past glorious records of Manjuyod Central School, so that the past educators who made it would not have died in vain. Thus we can be proud to proclaim that the Manjuyod Central School yesterday is the same as the Manjuyod Central School today.
